Aloha Hustlers!

Today was an interesting day. I turned on UberEats, UberX, UberX Priority, UberXL, and LyftXL. My first offer was one that hit the $.50 per minute goal. I was pretty steady until I took an UberX into town and turned off UberX and UberEats. I don't like doing UberX in town because the traffic makes it not that profitable and most UberX riders don't tip. I don't do UberEats in town because there are very few places to park and I really don't want to have to deal with finding parking a mile away and walking to the delivery door. It takes me about 13 minutes to walk a mile, which means a delivery that should only take 30 minutes could very easily end up being an hour or more. It just doesn't make sense for me. If I had an E-Bike or a moped, it would be a different story.

I'd also like to bring attention to how many miles I had to drive today with the addition of UberX and UberX Priority. I added almost 60 more miles to my car to make the additional $70 to break the $200.00 mark. For a weekend or a day, that may be fine, but over the long term, it is not sustainable for me (Or anyone really). Please be very cautious of the miles you are putting on your vehicle for the amount of money you are being paid. Taking every offer without consideration of wear and tear on your vehicle is a blind spot many gig drivers have. I generally deduct $35 for every 100 miles I put on my vehicle. The reasoning is that my car should easily hit the 200,000 mile mark (It is a Toyota), and so by the time I have 200,000 miles on my car, I should have about $70,000 to buy a new vehicle. That number may be smaller if I have to use the funds for a major repair, but at least I know there will be *some* money there. Hope this helps you in your hustle and I'm still looking for awesome cold lunch ideas!!!

Good luck out there Hustlers!
